Tried compression test on KA24DE, threads in No. 1 Cylinder stripped while removing tester. Any idea on how much to fix?

they were stripped before. i doubt the tester stripped the threads.

the plug hole needs to be helicoiled. get the kit and fix it yourself, or a shop will probably charge 60-80$ to fix.

you can try a thread chaser or a tap. Maybe there is some threads left that you can save.

I've had Heli coils last +50k miles...

If its a stock motor or one with high milage go with the coil.

heli-coil is a legend for helping to fix that messed up situation...but if you are not experienced with it i wouldn't even chance it...get a new head..or send the head into the machine shop and have them re-thread it...
