I have a black top sr20det motor with a 2871r garrett turbo. I had it installed at pruven preformance in ct. Today I change my oil and after a 10min drive I returned home to find my car pissing out oil. After further investigation I found it leaking from the oil feed port after taking off the banjo bolt I saw the block with stripped (and bad)

I dont know what to do would tapping the block and replacing the banjo bolt and fitting work

I need a solution please help....... thanks in advance

The best bet would be to install a helicoil. Unless the threads are just marred up on aluminum, retapping won't solve the issue.

unfortunely there are no threads left i talk to a custom motor shop the 2 options they gave me are1. plug up the original oil feed port and tap a new one somewhere else in the block

2. retap the block and change the bango bolt and fitting

if they do that then I can request a helicoil

or should i just start lookin for a new block
