I have a stripped lug not on one of my wheels, what would be the best way to get it off (its not stripped very bad, but it slips when force is applied)

if its just the lug nut stripped, get a new one. if the stud is stripped also you're going to have to replace it. to get it off- impact wrench

I had the splines stripped on a rear lug by a tire shop. They would have paid to have it fixed by a shop, but nobody works on my car but myself.

So, here's how it went:

1. Remove six bolts from inner axle/output flange.2. Remove 4 bolts holding hub assembly to rear suspension upright.3. Remove big axle nut.4. Play contortionist to remove axle.5. Remove brake from upright.6. Wheel is free now, but still has the brake rotor and hub attached, so, drill, drill, drill to remove stud from back side of hub.7. Replace stud and reassemble everything. Yeah, like that was easy.

When I went back and *****ed again at the tire shop, they were only willing to offer me a free tire with my next set. Oh well, at least it was something.

weld a bolt on to it and use an impact wrench. or pound a smaller socket on that you dont plan on keeping.
