So I'm a grad student with an '89 with 245K on it and they have some cheap F & R upper and lower strut/brace bars on Ebay and I was wondering should I even spend the money? I bought a ES full kit, cheap, thinking about pineapple subframe bushings as well. Will these bars tie the car together a little better even if they might be the "low" end bars, or is it not worth my time? Looking to improve the susp, but I think it'll make it stiffer and a harsher ride, which I think the ES will also do, would appreciate any input/two cents...thanks

I doubt strut bars will give your car a harsher ride.It should be fine.

Agreed. In normal every day driving you will not even notice them. What you will notice is a decrease in creaking and groaning of the chassis when turning into elevated driveways, speedbumps or jacking up the car. Maybe, depending on tension or preload, you may get a bit more vibration in the cabin.

Considering the cost, if you have it to spend, go for it.
