So, I absconded for a few days after I heated debate between myself and a few others on the Political forum... and this is how it all went down.

After having a very through "discussion" about some random topics about the death sentence and some gun control and blah de blah de blah blah blah, I went ahead and took care of some chores around the house. Besides, I had to go pick up a prescription at Walgreens, and take care of a few other miscellaneous items, so I just so happened to be waiting and I checked my blood pressure while I was there. Yeah, 148/91 is not good. So, I figured a few days off from posting on the forums would be a wise idea. Maybe a brief visit, but nothing major. No posting, no real visiting, just a pop in.

So, I know that there is a post about this stickied, and I figured that since we're all heated up about the election, and there's feces flying all over the place in here between liberals and conservatives and Obama fans and the other guys.. I figured I'll just post up some a site that has some good links to some Stress Management tips. So you don't end up throwing your monitor across the room. Or ripping out your iPod connector cable because it was touching you (guilty ) and throwing it throwing it across the room.

Anyway.. you don't have to post in here, just know that if you get stressed out, perhaps you should take a break, stop posting.. walk away. ANYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN TO CONTINUE POSTING. Bad juju.

http://www.mindtools.com/smpage.html

That page helped me a lot over the last 2 days. Considering the 5 hours of sleep I've gotten, and the 1 meal I've eaten. I'm surprised I've made it through a full work day.

Keep your cool, and remember, you can always just walk away.

Marenta, I really don't know you but you impress me as a very stable, intelligent person, a great mother, a good wife and an asset to our country. Does anything else, especially anything that happens on the Internet, really matter? I'm glad you came back.

glad to see you found an outlet for your personal frustrations. I would suggest eating and sleeping more if you can as well, something to be said for recharging your body and lessening stress.

I am chronically ill so i tend to have a VERY thick skin, however, the last few days has seen the tear down a rebuild of the 1911 at least 4 times. I find working with my hands and or learning stuff to be my stress relief, if a range isnt close enough

i tend to read but not respond in most of the obama this mccain that threads. its not really something i can contribute to when I have so little information to work with on obama , and mcain is playing close to the vest as well. that and my views on the candidates are mine, not something i "like" to debate over. i do enjoy seeing everyones opinions though.

glad you are back, but try the margaritas and the jack and cokes and remember its all just spirited debate, not (i hope anyway) ever really a fight.

I enjoy reading your posts. I have a question.

When you began dating your fiance what was his reaction when you asked him if he would like to come over to your place to see your gun collection?

My computer case sits on the ground beside my legs, and the cable fell over the side, and it had brushed up against my leg one too many times. Ergo, I yanked it out, as if it had made one too many transgressions against me. Now I suppose I must go to Best Buy and raise my credit rating by using my Best Buy card and thusly paying it off as I receive the bill next month. *sigh*

I may or may not be. In my job, I'm on pins and needles all the time. You have to be constantly aware, as if the world could end at any moment. Very stressful, and adding in the two topics to which I tend to veer from; Politics and Religion, obviously it gets messy.

Punctuation. Grammar. Spelling. Debate. And, all of the above you've stated. I do tend to be stable, most of the time. But, I can be a hot head. Actually, I am very hot headed, and when I get pissed, I tend to pop off in the wrong direction. I usually get in trouble because I yell UP the chain of command.

Normally, I would cut that down, but I'm just lazy right meow. And, I'm at work, meh and bored. But, the whole sleeping and eating, well, the sleeping was due to a number of things. And, the eating is along the same lines. There's too much stuff going on right now, and my mind can't shut down, it's whatever.

Sorry TMS, I don't use Red Dots. I do want a recticle, but there is no red dot sight along with it. I figure if you need that, you're not a good enough shot anyway.

He's an Army Ranger. Turns out, he's more proficient at stripping and cleaning my guns than I am. Hell, he found cosmoline in my rifles that I missed. So, yeah. We both have children from previous marriages, and they get along well. But, we both are very strict about guns and we are both very serious about teaching the children about safety and storage. The use won't come until they're older. My son is 6, his daughter is 2.

I know that I'm going to regret this.. but, I'll set my myspace profile to public fo a little while. There are pictures of my little boy there, and Eric is my fiance, he's stationed out of Ft. Lewis Washington for now, but he's deployed. So, it makes no difference. And, now that you all know my life story. I'm going to go hide. Peace and humptiness forever.http://www.myspace.com/marenta

Your myface page, (or was it spacebook?) is cool. I have a question. I was a little hurt not seeing my name as one of your heroes. I guess I still have some work to do huh?

BTW, the offer still stands, you can have a custom title any time you choose - Nico's way of thanking those on active duty. I think something with nuke in it would be cool...

I used to have a bumper sticker on my Matrix that said "Warning! If you can read this sign, you are already sterile." It was bright yellow and magenta with a trifoil. God, I love Nukes. I love me. I love my program. I love America and Democrats, and Republicans.. and Pink fuzzy bunnies.

I don't know if "Warning! If you can read this sign, you are already sterile." will fit. But, God, I love nukes! will? Pull the trigger any time and I'll see that it happens.

GODDAMMIT BOB DON'T SAY THAT!!!!

I don't take anything that happens in here very seriously - The discussion is the goal... Like a good top-down road trip, the journey is better than the destination.

There's not a one of you in here that I wouldn't invite into my home for dinner. I learned long ago that I can find common ground with damn near anyone.

it doesnt help discussion when ppl just pop in to make posts that have the topical relevance of "poop! LULZ." we are here to discuss, if i wanted to read those posts, id just head over to the 240 forums or read any of Naladude911's threads.

HOT DANG, i am eating a tin of dolmas right freaking now. no joke. so tasty, filled with ricey goodness.

we make two versions in our cuisine, one that is served hot stuffed with meat and rice, and the other which is served cold, stuffed just with rice. i prefer the latter, but man are they tasty.

See, I prefer the former - seems more like a substantial "meal"...

Takes me a while to make them... One of my fondest memories of my late wife was staying up all night with a couple bottles of wine and making a big pot of dolmas. /

oh, and btw, it should always be a happy memory. not many people are as lucky to have met such a seemingly perfect companion. if they were, separation and divorce rates wouldnt be as high as they are now. As ironic as it may seem, there is a phrase in arabic that roughly translates to, "write the bad things that happen to you in sand, but write the good in marble." I suspect you have a lot of marble.

i would have loved to have met NicoMom.
