Street suspension setups under 1k

I just bought a 91 240sx ka24de for $2200 with 170k, and the brakes and suspension are both in pretty rough shape.

I have some cash laying around and would like to buy some nice suspension, I dont want anything to harsh and Im sure anything would be a step up from the blown struts I have now.

I was looking into Konis and whiteline springs from PDM racing, and maybe some bushings. I was also looking into Megan racing coilovers, both of these setups seem to be about the same price. I was just wondering which would handle better (not for drifting!) and which would be more comfortable since this is my only car.

I am also interested in this topic. I don't need a car that can only handle like its on rails but when it hits an expansion joint it knocks my fillings out. Anybody have any good suggestions.

for street, i'd say you're on the right track with the bushings and koni/whiteline. you might want to take a gander at the rsr springs instead of whiteline. Definitely will make a big improvement in your handling with the bushings and struts. coilovers on the street is asking for a bit of extra roughness and higher cost of ownership.
