After doing some research, in Florida Assuming your car is made after 1979. Sound levels35 mph or less Speed limit 72dba over 35 mph 79 dbameasuring 50 ft away.Well talking to HKS they told me oh yeah its legal and stuff and I said show me documentation but only thing they sent me was it meets California statue of 95 dba measuring 20inches (I forgot). Then talking to my sister (she is a lawyer), she said judge is gonna just say well we are in Florida not Cali and blah and just make me look stupid. good thing I fought the ticket and cop didnt show up...so I was lucky.
Actually, **** I got the statute here somewhere, the changing of exhausts is listed under modified exhaust to create noise. And basically states that any change in exhaust that increases the overall sound while driving is illegal.
I got nailed for it in conjunction with a racing on public highways ticket a few yrs back, at the then tradeport drags. I did alot of reasearch on it and the one he wrote down he wrote wrong... He wrote that ticket out as modified exhaust to create noise, but put a "tampering with emissions controll device" statute number down as they are simillar and he was a retard... "I have my reasons" so any LEO's step off, and have a nice day!! Any way, I got off as he submitted a delay of trial the friday before the monday hearing and it didnt go through, or got lost

SO he didnt show, I won, then got a new trial date muhahaha which when I called didnt matter

I havent attended a single illegal drag since btw though.
I havent got a single ticket on my N1 with stock secondary cat and HS header since... I have been pulled over in various counties for various things after that, and it never even came up though..
