that'll depend on your county and how the law is enforced. for example, in California where emissions testing is required, only a C.A.R.B. approved kits will pass legally. not likely the case in Oregon (that means you don't absolutely have to get the greddy, which is the only carb approved kit). Other places require a visual inspection including engine bay where any power adder won't pass. some counties only require working blinkers, horn, wipers, etc. and no emissions. Here in dallas county, by law, we are not allowed to even have an aftermarket exhaust of any kind or be lowered at all. it's imposible to enforce so people don't follow it but it gives cops a reason to pull you over if they want to be d!ck . anyways, check your local laws and talk to other people n your town with modified cars. if a simple emissions test is required, like in most places, there are ways to get any turbo'd car to pass. searh for "emissions" in this forum.

Hey. How long of a drive is Bend from Klamath Falls? I just moved up here a year ago to go to OIT, and this town sucks for people who are into Nissans.

If you live in Washington like me.

Then you have no issues. They dont care what you do as long as the sniffer will pass... and btw WA does not even count nox so a good cat will make you pass every time.

I already asked the head of the washington DMV. He said we dont care as long as you pass the sniffer. If you fail they might look to see if you have a CAT and if you dont you might get a fine. if you do have a CAT they will just have you try again.

this also counts for engine swaps. The whole reason I asked was I want an RB S13 240.

CARB is just Cally BS.

Greddy already said the kit will never be street legal. (look in the kit manual) and they only say that to save themselves legal BS. (So fools dont sue)

Legal issues are state to state dependent.

And "legality" is relative.

As long as your car will pass emissions requirements of your state, there's no issue.

Mine, for example, will be very low-key, have to make it look "factory", and retain all emissions equipment.
