Streched tires

Before joining nicoclub, I've never heard of this term, I was just wondering if someone could please explain it

putting a small tire on a wider rim...

195/50 on the stock rim - 5.5 or something... is normal

195/50 on an 8" rim... is stretched

For many different reasons... fender clearance, coilover clearance, "drifter" look, cheaper tires (since narrower), stiffer sidewall, etc, etc.

Next time... just read or search, stretched tires are mentioned and pictures are taken all the time - I know this has been posted about at least 4 or 5 different threads in the past month.
