1. take off the panel you wish to mount he base too.
2. use a "step-bit" to drill out the hole and install a rubber grommet to protect the wires.
3. cut off the cigarette lighter plug from the wire.
4. look at the plug on the wire, and you will see a plus & minus guide so you know which wire is what.
5. i wired my wires to my relay system, but you can tap them into your cigarette lighter wires. (the center of the cigarette lighter, wire is the positive). anything metal is a good ground with a self tapping screw. just use the right terminals (o-ring for the ground, and a tap for the positive)
6. i applied some rubber RTV to the backside of the flashlight charger base, so that it wont vibrate.
7. i use 2.5" decking screws to screw the base to the plastic body panel.
- you dont need a switch, because all you have to do is take the flashlight and rotate to stop charging. now there will be no longer any power drain.
