If you only have $900, new to autox, and a stock s13.. I would wait on the coilovers. Sway bars--> $250Spring+strut--> $600Bushing kit--> $125

I personally think this would give you a better handling and more predictable car at the limits.Best of luck, autocross is a blast.

Actually, if you've never autocrossed before, upgrading your skills should probably come before upgrading the car. I think starting with a stock car is the way to go, especially with an S13, whih already has a very good and forgiving stock suspension. Remember, a good driver in a stock S13 will easily defeat an poor one in a modded S13. Once you get more familiar with how your car behaves at its limit, then you'll know better what should be done and be able to adjust to the changes. Personally, I'd probably upgrade the tires before the suspension, but that's me.

Its all about skill and tires for the most part,If you want to make a big splash in stock class...GS is where the stock 240 falls and its all about tires and driving.I gotta tell ya ...as a scca BoD member and from what Ive observed personally....most mods fall short of tire selection and driver skill when it comes to autox.If I was you ...spend your money on some kumho V-710s, a front sway bar,and get all the seat time you can get.Mods such as engine swaps and turbos and superchargers and coilovers and such as that seems to be IMHO a waste on autox if its the fastest time your looking for .It seems to me that the biggest mistake people make is changing a setup that nissan spent millions on R&D developing ,before they really spend time developing their skills at autox ,ultimately making the car slower.Just my observations .

Learn stock first...like me! But yeah, play around with tire pressure. And then get LSD and shave down a lot of time but still learnable at the same time.

Tires FIRSTSway Bar nextSpring / Strut after thatmaybe an LSD, but by no means is that a must.

And above all else... SEAT TIME!!! Decidedly the biggest advantage at any event.

First off, you need to go to scca.com and download the solo rules. Look over the classes and decide which one you want to compete in. It's really dumb to go and strip your interior, only to read the rule book and discover you can't be in Stock, STS, SP, or SM without a full interior. If you don't know what STS, SP, or SM are, you need to read the rule book. Autocross isn't just, 'hey ima put on a strut bar even though my car is stock, can I be competetive?'

Fun = #1Tires = #2S13 Viscous Lsd = #3
