Strangest Noise from Front Passenger Dash

So a few days ago I was driving and I heard the end all strangest noise coming from the front driver side Dash, I was wondering if anyone else heard this.

The easiest way to describe the noise is if you put a bunch of rice in a bottle and shook it. Kindof like that one instrument(maracas or something like that?). The noise starts when I am going above 60 MPH, and gets lounder and louder as I go faster. It seems that it is coming from the front driver side dash speaker. I know the speaker isnt blown out, but It really sounds like it is coming from that. It also still makes the noise with the radio off. On a funny note its a good audible warning if I am speeding, but its quite annoying so I was wondering if anyone has heard this noise.

I have reasoned that it is due to the wind blasting down on the windshield and rattling it somehow. The noise does sound more like it's coming from the dash than the windshield, but, for me, it seems to be worse on really windy days or the faster I go. Sometimes when I'm cruisng at 80 or 90 mph, it actually gets quite loud.

I always think that if I could just take a rubber mallet to the corner where the speaker is, I could seat something a little better and it would stop. But, there's no angle to get a good smack. It sounds just like you described and is very annoying.

yup, I too have that issue and the dealer cant do anything because that noise starts when I start driving at around 75mph and they are not willing to drive at that speed. I really think that its coming from outside the car, maybe like a weather seal or strip because it seems as though its caused by wind risistance. Dunno yet but its a very common issue. Im going to try adding some sealant this weekend and see if that fixes it and post back.

ive heard this noise at 90+... but only then... my first guess was weatherstripping

hmm, well regardless I am not taking my car home until the problem is fixed. Im not going to own a 30 thousand dollar car that makes the most annoying noise when I am going 60 mph.

I had that problem too. It's the plastic piece that runs along the bottom of the windshield on the outside. I took it to the dealership and they put a foam sticker in between. It helped for a few days, but now it seems that it came loose again.

I hear that sound even though I don't go 60 mph. I hear it randomly but usually I hear it a lot when I hit bumps on the road.

I knw what you guys mean, I hear it as well occassionaly....especially on bumps on the highway.....
