Like they said: Don't be afraid of wiring. Just take your time and label everything. Match color to color and work slow.
On a side note I did have an old Ford Wagon that did some strange stuff when I strped on the brake. Come to find out the small round contacts on one brake light bulb had soffened over the years and the Vegas heat and were shorting out. Never blew a fuse but I would get turn signals when I steped on the brake etc. That car was about 20 years old at the time. Same age as some of our 240's. Food for thought.
