Strange way of starting the engine

I have a pretty odd way of starting my engine. I put the car in neutral, give it a little gas and this button connected somewhere (I have to check up on where exactly) is pushed.

So the button starts the car. Its a pretty ghetto operation and I want it gone. I will put further details tomorrow.
