Good evening ladies & gents,

Strange thing started to happen a couple days ago with my 02 Q45 Sport. My baby starts up fine, and when I gas to take off I can hear a 'valve-like-release-sound' from the accelerator pedal area. The sound is low, and last for approximately 2-5 seconds. I'm also noticing a rough idle during the morning start ups that last for a couple minutes, and then it goes away for the day.

I wanted to know if anyone knew of any parts or components that could be the the cause to the sound, I would really appreciate your insight.

By the way, how do you upload pictures?

WAG here, but any chance it's coming from the brake booster?

Brake booster...interesting? Even though it happens when I step on the gas pedal and not the brakes.

Do you have any recommendations for testing the brake booster part or components?

Thanks!

Check the hoses and one way check valve.

Ladies and gents,

Just an update with the 'hiss-sounding-when-accelerating'; it turns out that my hose from the brake booster has harden and has multiple cracks causing the vacuum leak.

In fact, a couple days ago just before taking it to the shop, I lost 90% of braking! This happened as I was approaching a stop sign, my brake pedal became stiff as rock and barely able to stop.

If your experiencing similar issues, check that hose! Thanks maxnix!

Glad you found it!

Brakes should still work fine, just require more effort. Welcome to pre 1955 when vacuum brake boost was not common. but an option (power brakes).
