Have a 2016 Rogue with 90k miles. Transmission was serviced by local dealer at 60k. problem I had occurred while on a trip in Utah, coming down a mountain the rpm's stayed high aprox. 4k rpm and would not come back to the normal 2.5k rpm. I had the cruise control set at 80mph. like it was stuck in a lower gear. So stopped at the next exit, recycled the gear shift to park then back to Drive and drove at 75mph rest of trip with out any problem, probably another 2k miles. So question is do I have a real problem or just chalk it up to a strange anomaly. it was probably around 90 OAT and very mountainous. :gotme

It's time for another service. Initial service at 60 is okay, but you should be doing it every 30 thereafter if you want it to last.

In that kind of heat with long inclines, it's entirely possible it went into temperature protection. Compared to other Nissans with '10D tran-nies, the Rogue '10D's are a little weird about manipulating RPM's in response to cold and heat. If you have CVTz50, go into "CVT INFORMATION" and take a look at CVT-A and CVT-B. Those are the overtemperature records. If either one isn't zero then the tran-ny has been overheated, probably during your trip. If so, it's doubly important to get that oxidized fluid out of there.
