I always find myself here. I will make it quick. My starter "popped" off. I have changed the starter and now there is a tapping sound coming from under the valve cover area I think. The engine cranked over a couple if times before the started bolt broke. I have checked under the cover to see if the timing chain guide had somehow come loose. The guide had already been removed. The rpms feel solid. Exhaust sounds normal. Anyone have a idea how the starter could of caused the sound. Please help. Thanks

It sounds like its coming from the timing chain area when I put my ear to the valve cover. What would that mean? Its not running like its out of time. Help please.

timing chain guides come to mind bro...easy fix as long as you dont mind gettin dirty..since your there..might aswell change the oil pump..water pump..thermostat..and timing chain...thats a good start for a solid driving machine:)..good luck bro.
