ok so this one has me puzzled. I just rebuilt my engine, headgasked leaked, pulled it again and sprayed it with copper sealer. I put it back together, start it up, car is idling a little high with drops in idle. I tap the gas a little, and it jumps to 2.8-3k rpms, even though i tapped it just slightly and let go right away, it still climbed up, stayed there for a few seconds and went back to it's loopy mode. My battery was dead, so i had it connected to a new battery. Then i start it up again and it idles smooth and sounds nice. So i unplugged the battery after it charged for a little. Then i turn the ligts on and the car dies. I guess it just drew too much current from the battery. SO then i start it back up and the car is running like poo at like 450 rpms, and there smoke coming out of the exhaust. It's looks dark gray in color, but then it smells funky so im not sure whether it's oil or coolant. I'm done for today, but im not sure where to start with this tomorrow :/. Any pointers greatly appreciated, also anyone experienced the weird rpm issue? Srry for the essay, thanks

Dark Grey smoke would be excess fuel. Oil would be whitish blue and coolant would just be white.

Just start with the basics. Check your TPS forsure.

The car ran fine before the rebuild?

Car was running fine until the wristpin on one of the pistons gave up. Anyway i figured it out (or rather stumbled upon the solution). I had a grounding issue. I had some wire come apart not related to the grounding issue and i touched it to to intake mani and it cleared right up, and its weird koz thats the first thing i did when i opened the hood. I would never figure that out, i guess it's my lucky day...
