Some time back I was replacing my plugs. I got to #3 and couldn't get it out. It wasn't stuck, it was as if the socket wasn't catching. I got a flashlight and looked down in the well. The hex portion of the plug was missing, so I couldn't turn it. No one I've ever talked to has ever heard of this. I had to show people because they didn't believe me. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I mean, if it's missing, how did it get in there to begin with? I'm not too concerned with it right now because the car runs fine, but I don't like it. If I ever get nitrous and need to switch plugs, I'm just stuck with the old one. I don't know how to get it out without breaking it or taking the head off. I've already tried turning it w/ needle nose pliers; of course I couldn't get enough grip to turn it. Any ideas?

Uhh Vice grips? I dunno

No but really spray some of that penitrating oil in there and put some electric tape around the teeth of the vicegrips and turn very carefully. If it breaks in there your gonna have to drill it out very carfully and make sure that you dont get any pieces into the chamber.

Well if you ask me I'd say the hex head came off in the ratchet in the beggining when they installed it and to get it out vice grips man or maby your best bet may be pliers and squese them as hard as possible to leave an indent and then start twisting. Though if that doesn't work you could very carefully drill a small hole in the plug and then using needle nose pliers try again but only as a last resort. Good luck man. Oh and try to get it out soon and replace it so you wont have this problem. Aim High and Keep Pushing the Envelope.
