strange problem

ok, so here is my problem. i start my car no problem. but then when i shift it into drive and step on the gas it revs like im in neutral. and sometimes it feels like there is a severe loss of power becaue i move a tiny bit. but since im usually in a hurry i shift it into second gear and it goes right away. i would search this but it would be really hard to describe in that tiny little box.

sounds like a synchro ring/dog gear problem not letting the gear engage propperly. is this an auto or manual because you say shift into drive then shift into second.

if its manual it could be a bent/broken pushrod.

automatic would most likely be a solenoid that engages it.

could be wrong tho
