strange problem.

While i was driving my car today everything was fine i did nothing out of the ordinary and the car was running fine. I was in 2nd gear at about 3k then out of the blue it just stop responding to throttle a the revs dropped down to 2k even though my foot was on the throttle the whole time. When it hit 2k it started to respond again but it was just jerking and not accelerating. So i just drove never being able to go above 2k in any gear.

In neutral i press the throttle a the rpms go up to 2k and then just keeps jumping between 2.3k and 2k. Its dark right now so i havn't had a chance to check under the hood yet. So i just wanted some opinions on what possibly could be causing this problem so i could have an idea of what to look for when i check it out tommorow.

I know that a boost leak may cause this but i would have expected a boost leak to develop when i was driving hard at full boost 10 minutes earlier. But not when i was taking it easy.

Sounds like a bad MAF wire connection.

Definitly sounds like the MAF, it could possibly be a bad boost leak thats not opening until 2k though.

yeah it was the maf.
