Whats up Nico,

I recently boosted my KA, and I am having an odd issue now. When the car is under load she runs like a champ, but when I pull up to a stoplight and let the car idle, She starts doing some strange things.

I shot a short video to illustrate the problem.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42vZo30LBOQ

A couple of side notes, I haven't lost any oil or Anti-freeze so I know the smoke isn't related to the HG, BUT, when I get on the motor I do get quite the cloud behind me and the car stares running super right for a good 5 min after that.

Watch the video and comment here as to what the problem might be, I am starting to lean towards a bad AICV or a bad TPS.

Any and all help greatly appreciated. Thank you Nico.

You could try running some seafoam to see if it free's up a possibly bad IACV. But it sounds to me like a vacuum leak. In fact I had the EXACT same issue two days ago. I had an open vac line, mine was the one for the PCV. Look for a vac leak and run some seafoam.

Ok I ran some Sea-foam through the vacuum line that is next to the Throttle body and I haven't seen any improvement at all. I sprayed Carb Cleaner all around the vacuum system and listened to see if the engine changed note or revved any higher and there was no change..I am stumped

check your tps settings. If all else fails unplug the iacv and crack the TB to stop the honda idle.

How would I go about checking the TPS Settings?

do a quick search....you need a ohm/volt meter and you adjust the tps so it shows X ohms when closed and x voltage when closed. Cant remember which wires you probe or the specs for the tps.

Think I might have found the problem, The ACC I had on the manifold was missing the spring..

The new one I am putting in the car.

I will post up my results of how this turns out when all if back on the car.

What makes it even more interesting is that the spring is just gone..not in the IM or in the EM..where could it have gone lol

isnt that spring behind the idle adjustment screw? if yes, then it could have fallen out if the screw was removed. i think thats where that adjustment screw is...

nope its not the adjustment screw hole, lookin at the picture again...hmmm...your car is developing too much power for springs to stay in..they are vaporising...lol..

Wow, what a difference what this one part makes. It's a completely different car now runs and idles very smoothly.

Awesome man. Glad you got to hunt it down and find the issue.

I'm too lazy now a days. I really shouldn't own a 240 anymore. haha

It is my wideband, Boost Gauge, and EGT gauge, It fit in the hole for the horn button perfectly, all I did was add a small amount of RTV to seal it in place.. I love it there..

It's pretty accurate, I have never had any issues with it. I love it!
