Hey everyone, ever since the weather started dropping close to freezing for the last couple of weeks, when I start up the truck It makes a weird intermittant noise. It calms down after the truck is nice and hot, but sometimes even then I can hear it come back under heavier throttle. I really don't know how to describe the sound so I recorded a video after a cold start.

Any Ideas?

The noise is probably bearing(s) in a pulley. Remove one belt, run the engine (up to a minute if it's stone cold) and see if the noise persists. If it does, remove the other belt and repeat. Spin the pulleys by hand with the engine off, see if you can replicate the noise. This should help you track down where the noise is coming from. Inspect the drive belts for cracks too, if they look bad replace them.

It's probably your flux capacitor running low.

LOL....Towncivilian is right... sounds like either the idler pulley or the alternator one
