Strange no spark issue. It was firing on 3, but now only 1?

ok so i put a redtop in my coupe. when i got it everything was out of time (crank, cams, and cas) and it was missing a valve shim. i put it back in time and replaced the valve shim and went for first startup, it ran but it ran like crap. after letting it idle for a little bit we pulled the plugs out(brand new ngk iridiums) and the #4 cyl. plug was all black and the rest were clean. this made me think it was just running on 3 of the cylinders, ok. so then we check all the coil packs by grounding out the plug and turning the motor over. only the #1 cylinder is getting spark, wierd because the car actually started and idled and i dont think it could have on one cylinder. so then we pull the plug off the cas and check the voltage on the 4 pins while turning the motor over, only 2 of the pins are getting voltage. im so confused and depressed, i dont know what to do. it really sucks having this amazing car sitting outside and not knowing why it wont just run. any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks guys
