so far i've got about 7k miles on the sr(redtop), and now it idles a little higher than usual. It used to idle @ 750rpm, now hangs out around 900-1000, kinda like when it's warming up. Is this bad, or not? Is it something i need to worry about?

My SR idles at around 900-1100 sometimes and 750 (where i set it) others. No danger to the motor or anything, your just going to waste more gas when stopped. If you have the Nismo thermostat your ecu may keep the car in warmup mode because of low coolent temps.

hmm... is 1200-1300 normal? after really long drives it actually idles lower like around 750-1000. But if i just drive for around 15-20 min it still idles high...

cool, thanks guys. For the past 7 months it's been a weekend car, but now its my daily driver for a while. :J-spec: i plan to get the Nismo thermostat soon. Is it worth it? performance wise.

if your running fmic, with clutch fan, i would recommend getting it. Im running smic with koyo al rad, nismo thermostat and rad cap. i shouldn't ever have a heating issue but im worried i might be running colder than normal operating temp.

I honestly would not get a lower temp thermostat unless your having cooling problems at the track. Test first so you dont go and buy parts you dont need that could potentially make your car run worse.
