strange clicking noise

my s14 makes this clicking noise from the right rear wheel, the noise sounds like 2 sea shells tapping together, or 2 drum sticks but more metallic sounding. the sound occurs when ever i accelerate or suddenly take my foot off the gas at any speed.i took it to the garage and he said there is no play in the cv joints or the shaft so he did nothing.any ideas?
