I put on hawk pads about a month ago and they haven't stopped squeeking they are the hps and as they are semi ceramics and race pads i expected them to be a bit noisy and they are very dirty, but they squeek as loud as a big rig sometimes.

So today i examined them in class and i noticed theres a huge groove cut into one half of the pad and that the rotor has a matching scratch all around it.None of the other pads/rotors have this kind of damage and it was only on the outside of the front left.

there is identical damage on the rotos just all around and even.Even my teacher couldnt figure out what could of caused it.any help would be appreciated and any advice on how to get the brakes to quiet down(i already put stop squeek on the back of the pad

The groove was likely caused by foreign material in between the pad and the rotor. As far as the noise goes, is all the factory hardware still in place? I have the same pads and all the factory hardware. They are a little noisier than the stock pads at slow speeds, but only a bit. At higher speeds they are completely unnoticeable.

(BTW this is klits im at my friends house n forgot im on his name lol)

Everything that was on the pads before is still there. I have only had the car for about 10 months and just replaced the brakes and the brakes before were only noisy when they were cold and because they were worn. But im confused as how foreign material got in between them as far as i understand theres an incredibly small clearance between the pads and the rotor and thats a huge chunk in the pad and a nice cut in my rotors.

I only get the noise when the pads have warmed up and when coming to a complete stop. At high speeds when i slow down they are pretty quiet and stop amazingly. If i brake hard they will not make to much noise unless I have been driving for a while then it doesnt matter.

I work as a technician at a ford dealer and we see all kinds of things get on brake pads from metal to rocks, and even tar. Its not an uncommon occurrence at least for me to see something like that happen. Alot of the time you can see whats on the pad or rotor causing it. Usually you can just buff the pad until its gone and youll be ok. Just make sure the rotor isnt damaged enough to cause problems down the road.
