strange beeps coming from the Rogue

We've had a 2011 Rogue AWD since Sept last year, our 2nd Rogue, really like it but 3 times now I have gotten out of the vehicle, once locking and twice not locking it and when I get around to the front of it, I've l what sounds like about 10 beeps in a very fast sequence coming from it. There's been no lights on the dash and nothing that makes me think there's a problem just this very quick series of about 10 beeps. I know it's coming from the car because my wife who was in the car heard and was wondering what it was and a fellow about 20 feet away looked at the car as well. Has anyone else heard this

Sometimes it can get confused and think the key fob is still in the car when you get out. It's trying to warn you the keys are still inside. I doubt it's a real problem.
