Ive got an '06 G35 coupe (standard), i keep it in good condition, dont drive it in icy canadian winters, car has just under 60,000 km...
For the past few weeks ive noticed a concerning issue: when im in any gear except for 1st & 2nd and cruising at a reasonable rpm (2000-4000), if i suddenly accelerate the car will lag before accelerating properly. Its hard to explain but the rpm will rise a little bit, then drop back down a little, then continue to rise like it should from the beginning.
If anyone has any ideas what this could be, please give some input, if u need me to try and explain the problem further let me know that too. I spoke to a friend/mechanic who said the clutch may need to be replaced soon. He said it might be the spark plugs, i got them replaced, problem still occurs. I'd really appreciate if anyone knows what this could be...

Test the clutch. Find a pretty good hill with an incline and try to use too low of a gear. If it starts to slip, then you need to replace the clutch.

5th/6th gear at 20-30mph and accelerate. If the RPM's rise faster than you are truly accelerating, then its time for a new clutch. Seems with these cars, 60-70k miles is about all we are going to get out of a clutch.
