OK so i bought the 7 year gigantor warranty for my coupe. I am now realizing that I should not have done this . . . since I WANT to mod the crap out of it LOL.

So anyway, I was considering going with a straight pipe setup with a greddy ti-c, my question here is, what happens next in regards to the dealership and other maintenance?

I am under the impression that regular maintenance should be done at the dealership and documented so you have something to fall back on when reselling the vehicle (proof that u took care of it). If i take the cats out I am assuming my dealership is NOT going to be happy, so how does this all work??

Also, what happens if you get caught without cats on the road? Just a fine and required to show that cats were replaced??

I would also have to have the cats put back on when getting emissions taken?

in california if you get caught with no cats you get sent to the ref (California referral) and it's a $30 charge to get your car tested. if your car is tested and it passes (you put your cats back on) then they sign off and your good to go. this is the thing tho, cops don't have a record of every single car ever made and how many cats they have. i know a guy at the muffler shop with a 240SX with no cats and all he did was put a heat shield and told the cops its behind the heat shield lol the altima coupe has 3 cats and 2 of them have sensors so you'll get a check engine light if you mess with those so you can only take off the 3rd cat.

i've done this in the past but i put it back on to go with a different set-up. also if you take off your cat and the silencer on the exhaust, it's going to get annoying as a daily driver...... also i don't know how that would go when the dealership sees your cat is missing lol
