Straight Pipe (Test Pipe) Cat...

I have been reading threads on this, this whole morning, thats how bored i am at work. But I have this rattle in my car, which alot of you say may be the heat shield, however my mechanic said it's the catalytic converter. I ordered a test pipe (cat) of an ebay for $40. I have been reading on and on how its illegal, however i dont care about emission or anything like that, however I love the Torque. On my Maxima (previous car) i had a test pipe installed, when i had the 2.75" exhaust I lost alot of torque, but when i switched to a 2.25" exhaust i think i gained more torque then usual with a straight pipe. So my question is it worth it to put a straight pipe on my 240, i have the stock exhaust for now. But swtiching to Apexi N1 in 2 weeks. So aside the legality crap. What do you guys think.????

P.S. Im doing installation tommorow so if you guys can answer asap.

you should stick with the 2.75 cuz they are better then what you have now, you should upgrade your engine and buy a new frame, might want to get a better car or a friend, maybe a new job too because your so bored, I AM THE LAW
