Any one else spot for their local weather service or similar venue? Just curious

I'm currently saving for a 4x4 Frontier that I will be building up into an amature chase vehicle. Will probably be getting my HAM radio operator's license soon too, I keep putting it off.

Figured you guys like pics too so, some weather pics:

Just outside of Dublin, GA about 8 years ago, we were about 1/2 mile away and at the same time on the other side of the highway was a long, thin roping tornado. Only had a disosable camera, so scanned-in quality sucks. It was weird because I always have my weather radio with me on road trips and I had it down there.... the radar at the gas station showed nothing on it, and the local weather service was playing the extended forcast for the week ahead over the weather radio, when right outside the gas station my father and I watched the complete birth of this twister. Was pretty neat!

And some other local pics from KS:

Yeah, it's definately exciting on the actual in-the-field part. I'm still trying to decide if I really do want to go back to college for meteorology or if It's going to be like my automotive interests getting burned out from working on crap cars all the time.

Here's a vid of one active day earlier this spring when I had to get out and didn't have anything else to use, so mom's Aerostar became the steed for the evening:

Tornados scare me....im afraid one will take my s13 one day. Or my house O.O I figure if one ever comes....ill hop in the s13 and get as far away as possible. If my house gets destroyed i can live in my car.

Speaking of hail we got some wicked *** hail a little over a month ago. I thought my house was falling down , and after about 5 minutes it looked like it has snowed all day.

Last year we had a hail here in LA, the ice was the size of a quarter. I was scared they're gonna mess up the car. Luckily, nothing happened.

Not really. I've recently made the decision to cease all upgrades for the S14 for likely the rest of the year aside from what I have stockpiled to install (which is a decent amount) and maintainence. I'm saving for a frontier that will serve as my daily as well as chsae duties... something I won't be afraid to take near hail

I too am elated at just the thought of spring storms arriving.

I just joined this forum to post about a Laser Interceptor GB I am hosting on my mazda6 forum, but I can figure out where to post it and I do not have enough post so im just roaming around.

i have always wanted to do the whole storm chasing deal, but we don't get too many tornadoes in sofla. but i have had experiences with hurricanes rather often, either in a truck or on a fourwheeler while there's 120+ winds going on. that's an experience. but one was hurricane irene though. got to take the johnboat out in the neighborhood, considering the roads were under 2-3 foot of water.
