My sisters computer took a dump on her a few days ago, so I went over and ransacked the thing. From what she was telling me it sound like the CPU is dead, so I grabbed EVERYTHING short of the mobo, RAM, and CPU. Anyways, now I have a bunch of parts, most of them I cant even use (hey, I'm a packrat) so what should I put them in to store them?

So you want to keep them? Get some anti-static bags and put them in a box.

Where can I find some anti-static bags? I dont think I've ever seen them before.

Yeah I want to keep them. Once I replace some stuff in the computer I'm on now I should be able to build a whole new computer with these parts for surfing the web, playing my music and all that. Then I can use this one strictly for gaming and all the other memory intensive stuff.

I've never used anti-static bags. I've been building computers for 8+ years now. I just stack parts in boxes as well. I am also a pakrat.

I use them. Its kinda like insurance, you may never have an issue. But if you did you wish you had them.

It really depends on where your storing them, in a closet it will probably be fine without them if you dont already have them. Just a good safety measure.

But you should NEVER ship computer parts without the part being in a anti-Static Bag.

Gotcha. They will be in my closet so I guess they will be fine until I get out and buy some of those bags. Luckily I have no shortage of boxes to put them in. Thanks for the responses guys!
