About 7 years ago when I first got my S10 Blazer I drove up to Best Buy Illegally on leaners permit to have them install a CD player for me, I didn't know jack about car stereo, they installed it, using wire nuts, the twist on kind. I didn't find that out until a few months later when we installe 4 12 inch W6's off 2 1000 watt Crossfire D class amps in a huge ported box in the cAargo area, and then I kept having problems with it cutting on and off, so I yanked off the dash to see what they had done, and they had vibrated apart. From then on I vowed never to let anyone work on my car again, never have I ever returned, DIY.

Hi-Fi buys is a little pushy and kinda have the "buy something or leave attitude" but if you getting something installed they seem to do Great work. Little Pricey but i highly recommend them for custom enclosures and installation. also a better selection then all off-line mainstream stores (circuit city, bb, ect)

Circuit city installed my first h/u for free even though i didnt buy it there (bought a harness there however)

yeah it looks like best buy really blows for everyone. A friend of mine got a cb put in at best buy about a month ago. The cb apparently has something to do with his hi-amp blowing.

The reason Best Buy blows, is because they hire these retards in highschool, who don't know ****, and tell them they can basically learn as they go. I've talked to some of their installers before, and they said they don't know **** about car stereo, they just kinda watch the senior installer, and get them to help. If you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself.

Here's how bad they are, back when I was 15, I went to get a job there, and I asked about selling car stereo's since I was learning the retail end about it all, but I had no clue how to install ****, they told me, well we're not hiring for sales, but they hired me for installs. I didn't take the job, was too far away. But at that point in life, my sister knew about as much as I did on installs, and she didn't even know you could swap out radios.

Future Shop was good before Best Buy bought and killed them in the US.

Ultimate Electronics in St Louis is great, and Best Buy is horrid.

I got in an argument with a guy at Best Buy over a ****ty installation (promised not to cut my factory harness, head unit was crooked!)

Took it to Sounds on Wheels (local in Spokane WA) and they fixed it.
