I have a few qualms with the Pathfinder's interior design: map lights not wired with the doors, radio and climate control should be swapped, but probably the most knit-picky is the poor storage tray options in the front of the vehicle. My previous vehicle was a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee which had the best out of any vehicle I've seen/owned. Nearly the whole dash could be used, as well as the area below the climate controls but in front of the gear shift. My pathfinder has virtually none. Yes there is the large center console box but the 4x4 lever has eliminated the only other chance besides the 2"x2" opening under the radio which isn't good for much of anything.
So... why am I ranting about this. I'm just curious to see if anyone has done anything either custom fabrication or aftermarket wise that produced better open storage area. I'm considering doing a radio swap since I have the infamous "ERR FO" error and getting a single DIN deck with a storage tray beneath to make up the other "single DIN" area. Any other storage ideas can be shared as well be it roof racks, interior cargo racks, cigarrette tray conversions, etc but I'm mostly looking for front passenger compartment ideas. Bring the pics.
