Post

Hi, I haven't posted in a while, but I spent a lot of time (not Jesda kind of time) here in the early 2000s. I just sold my last of 4 Infinitis that I've owned, and wanted to say goodbye to what's been a great community all of these years.

I bought my first Infiniti, a silver 1994 J30, in 2000 in FL when I was in undergrad down there and came to the Yahoo Infiniti Drivers message board

-- can't find any pics of the '94 - digital photos were pretty new then (LOL)

In 2002, I switched over to NICO when it came online on it's own server - user #126!

In 2003, my '94 J30 was totalled in DC (t-boned by a woman crossing an intersection on my right of way) and I replaced it with a black '96 J30t:

In 2006, I traded in the '96 J30 for a '99 Q45t:

Camping outside Denver on the way from NY to the Grand Canyon - did a little over 6000 miles in 2 weeks - hit Chicago, Denver, Grand Canyon, Taos/Santa Fe, San Antonio, New Orleans and DC. This car handled the trip amazing well and was incredibly comfortable.

Installed nav before the trip

That car was totaled in NY (girlfriend spun it on some black ice and hit a barrier) and replaced with a black 2000 Q45 AE:

I sold that car last fall and replaced it with a BMW 330xi:

And in winter wheels:

So, that's my story. I want to thank Greg, especially, but also Dennis (Q45tech) and Brian (Maxnix), Wes and Jesda and a lot of others for a lot of good information over the years and a lot of good reading -- especially Jesda in that regard.

I'm still an Infiniti lover at heart, though I absolutely love this BMW - it's quiet, smooth, responsive, neutral, great sound...but I wouldn't be surprised to find myself in Q50 in the next few years.

Unfortunately, no longer a Nissan or Infiniti, but continuing here at NICO!

Not always easy to find the time, of course, but you can still hang out here at NICO even if you don't own a Nissan or Infiniti model. :yesnod

I hope you do have good results with the BMW - does look like a nice car for sure!

I second this! Don't be a stranger, just because you're not a current owner doesn't mean a hill of beans. Your input is still appreciated!

Yea, don't leave because you don't have a Nissan. My best friend is on here and he's NEVER owned a Nissan, LOL! NICO is just a better forum environment than the other forums, so ppl stick around.

Nice cars and I'm sure you have some good stories that go along with them. Don't leave for good though, stop by and say hi every once in a while.

True story. I've never owned a Nissan or Infiniti...
Unfortunately I don't have as much time to post on forums as I used to.

I disappeared for ~4 years due to military service (and no Nissan/Infiniti in my possession, shame on me!).. However I'm making an attempt to be more active again!

Since Nissan/Infiniti doesn't really make much that's worth a dang anymore, most of us don't have just their old infiniti's anymore.. I bought a '07 BMW M Coupe a couple year ago, what a fantastic car, although not looking forward to something breaking..... :ohno:

I looked at the 335s and the 535's before I bought my 07 G35. Both are FANTASTIC cars, I came really close to buying a 535xi 6MT before getting my G.

Don't be a stranger, and I'm sure eventually you'll get an itch to get an old Q45 or J30 again. There's something special about those cars!

Absolutely. I haven't owned a Nissan in years, but I'm not going anywhere.

I've found more interesting cars but I haven't found more interesting people than NICO.

Good choice on the 3-series. That generation is among the last of the great ones.

Wow, long time no see!

Glad you popped back in... hope you'll drop by and share some knowledge or just hang out with the crew. :)

It's always nice to see an old friend again, and know that they're doing well.

Are you still with the girlfriend that totaled your '99?
That thing looked GREAT!
