I get these "STOP LAMP INOPERATIVE" warning every once in awhile, and then it sudenlly disappears. Each time that the warning appears, I routine go arount the back and check the taillight, including the third brake light, and it all seems fine. It's a mystery why that comes back and haunts me from time to time. Any sugestions?

On my car the phillips screws that hold the sockets for the taillight bulbs were loose, resulting in intermittent contact loss that set off the sensor. You can pull the bulb assembly out from the trunk side and tighten those easily. If that doesn't do the trick, you probably have non factory bulbs in there that draw slightly different current again setting off the sensor. If replacing the bulbs with factory doesn't do it, new sockets and a new sensor are sometimes needed.

I got new bulbs from Joe, $3 for the pair and all was solved...

Ironically they were cheaper than the ones at autozone....

These cars know when you use inferior products!!!!!!

My theory is to start the cheapest and then work your way up..... Start with the bulbs and if they dont work THEN go to the sockets...... If you go all out its gonna be like $13!
