Well, we had our new 09 Murano less than a month and found a chip in the driver side 'Headlamp Extension Panel', p 173 in the EXL manual. Bummer. The dealer quoted my wife a price over a hundred bucks for this little piece of plastic, so I am hoping I can find one online somewhere. Any suggestions on where to get the part number or where to order the item?

Here is what it looks like: http://star-watcher.org/LensCrackFar.jpgand http://star-watcher.org/LensCrackClose.jpg

I have the same thing on the right side. I remember seeing it online for $38 but it's gone up to $43. Check the link below.

Hey thanks! That did it. I have it on order (well, the left one for me). I checked the Service Manual (online on this site - so cool!!!) and it looks fairly easy to replace. If you have already done it and have any tips, let me know. One thing that I learned the hard way is to be very careful working around the exposed radiator fins. I had a very nasty experience years ago when my socket wrench just touched the radiator. Such a small touch but fluid started leaking, making a small project into a big expensive project.

I haven't done it yet. It looks really easy to replace. Your post prompted me to finally order mine along with a cabin filter.

Ok, I just completed replacing the headlight extension panel. Not a hard job, but you need to be careful of the 6 pawls along the lower part of the grill.

To remove the grill, the service manual says to remove all the pins along the top, release the two clips on each end of the grill using pliers, then pull the grill straight out to pop loose from the lower six pawls.....easier said than done....I snapped one of the pawls following this method . Fortunately there was enough surface that I was able to firmly re-attach it with some gorilla glue.

It's best to wiggle your hand in there with a small screwdriver and manually release each lower pawl while applying forward pressure on the grill. Small hands help here....which I do not have.

Hey, thanks much for the heads up. My replacement is in transit and I am awaiting its arrival so I can do the same thing. Your advice is really appreciated!
