Hey folks,
Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I'm not a big poster, more of a lurker... Today my KA24E was stolen out of my driveway in south Huntsville, AL. Engine stand was also stolen. If anyone has any leads or anything that would be awesome, please PM me! I bet they are just going to scrap it since its not like a SOHC is highly sought after. When I bought it I was told it may have a blown head gasket anyway. Really just upsetting because I wanted to rebuild it from the bottom up (maybe even ka-t) without having to take my 240sx out of commission. Big fat downer. Reported it to the police but they said chances are slim. Can I get the engine's serial number from the VIN?
Thanks for any help guys.
Alex

Sorry to hear about the loss. I can't remember if Nissan keeps the records of what engine was matched to what VIN, but you could always call your local dealer and find out. We have a few members in the Huntsville region, so hopefully one of them is eagle eyed enough to find the thieves. Your best bet would be to reach out to the local car community and tell them about what happened and keep an eye on your local craigslist as well as ebay.

earlingy - I am a Huntsville native with several connections down there. PM me some more details concerning location, time, etc and I will see if I can dig something up for you.

Thanks guys. I haven't seen it on ebay or craigslist yet. The local metal recyclers either didn't answer the phone or said they get too many engines daily to be able to tell if one was mine. Sounds kinda like bull, but whatever... Police said chances are slim. No neighbors saw anything. One weird detail... I posted this on Zilvia as well, in the "Stolen" forum, the thread was deleted and I was perma-banned for it... Seems a little suspicious?
