Unfortunately, I felt that I had to get a car alarm within 2 weeks of buying my car. Sucks that it has to be that way. :(

On the plus side, the alarm does help me sleep a bit easier at night.

That really sucks. I was at work one day and seen some older guy checking out my car. I didn't think anything of it because people look all the time. I got my keys and was getting ready to walk outside, pop the hood, etc..... I look up and the D@MN A$$H0LE is in my car already !! I ran outside and flung myself on the hood of my car screaming at him. His buddy drove around in a truck and he ran and jumped into it.... He didn't hurt anything though, but it only took him about a minute to break in. Needless to say, the alarm was installed the following day.

HOLY CRAP! what did you do? beat them up? did they run away or something. hehehe. if someone looks at me when i'm walking to my car, i get in, and lock the doors right away. i'm paranoid about that sort of thing, and i don't think it hurts either. bunch of crazy desperate college kids here. man, when i bought my s13 it came with a crappy alarm. it's goes back on automatically after you shut the door, but it doesnt go off at loud noises or when you bump the car, which is annoyingly weird. it's made by a company that doesn't even exist anymore; Avital. it sucks. i'm thinking of getting something better eventually. but i don't want to spend $300 on a motion-detecting alarm like my ex has on his 'Lude...that's just a bit much.

Well, i was going to walk outside and show the guy the car but as i was getting out there he was showing himself to my car. When i jumped in front of it and on the hood he jumped out and ran and got into his buddies truck. Friggin A$$hole. I wish i could put my car in the parents garage.....my mom thinks her '03 CTS is more garage worthy than my 240. Oh well, moving soon anyways.

oh man, i hear ya. my mom is selling our house, and i'm pressing her to find a new house with a garage.. cause mine is going in it! (she just looked at me funny)yeah. now that i think of it, no one probably wants to steal an s13 unless it looks like something is done to it, which my car is stock pretty much.

oh well-- don't let the 'you want some candy?' trick work! heheheheh.

because there's a huge parts market for them, i.e. popular cars/best sellers also are the most stolen: such as the Camry, Accord, Corolla. they steal the cars, take them to chop shops and make money off of them. S13's are too old now a days, and not common. and s14's though not too common probably would fetch a good price, since they're newer, but then there's the people who just break into any car just to steal audio stuff/other paraphanelia too.

yup... my wifes accord got stolen and it was bone stock but they stripped the interior of the car completely.. they took the airbags and even the seat belts....all within like 5 hours... (this was before we got married) she came home, parked her car and went upstairs... about 4 in the morning. the cops called her saying they found her car on the street...stripped clean..

although they didn't take anything under the hood...

I saw the car later and they did an awesome job.. i mean... it was so proofessionally done... I thought since they had like 4 hours they would have just riped it appart but no, this was a clean *** job.. I was awed by it... crazy crazy stuff...

Yeah that $hit is messed up. One time they stole my girls Monte Carlo Cops found it 4 months later siting with a wheel missing on the west side of chicago. I custom made my security system You can't hot wire it or peel up the column you have to punch a code in to start the car so even if you had the key the car won't start without the code.
