Before I changed my stock pistons to CP Pistons my datsun would jump out of the line pretty fast. After changing pistons car seem to be slower at take off.Feels pretty fast at high boost.Compression ratio on forged pistons is stock. The other diffrence i notice is that there is a slow response at take off. Timing is set at stock, compression is 180 in all pistons. Is that normal when changing pistons only? Please help.

Well, sounds like you went from NA to boost with forged pistons. If this is correct, then you'll have slightly less power off boost with the turbo because of the mani design and back pressure from the turbo.

Other then that, no, pistons with the same compression ratio and design shouldn't effect the driving.

I have been told that the cam timing must be off. Does that sound like something that can be off?

Do you know what the diffrence between 9-1 & 9-5 compression CP pistons will have on the engine?

like less than a 7whp difference.

Half a point of compression isnt going to do much.

Yeah...not much at all bro. You could bump the base timing up a little and see if that helps.

Ok. Here is another question. Sorry if I sound retarded. Just confused right now.

Is there any difference between the 91-94 ka24de and 95-98 ka24de COMPRESSION RATIO?If there is a difference...what is it?

The difference was in the 89-90 KAE SOHC version. If you use those pistons you get really low compression.
