Has anyone run the stock turbo with a braided oil feed? I have a braided line on there now with my blown T3/T4... I picked up a RB25 turbo and will need to convert the end back to a banjo with a restrictor, or somehow see if I can plumb it back in using an AN fitting.

If anyone has done this... I would greatly appreciate the help!

Would this part go in? It's been so long since I've even held/looked at a stock turbo... the center section is like a GT28 correct?

hey there.here is an easier way to do this and keep the braided line and is what i did for my turbo (i thought it needed another restrictor).get a fittiting that goes into the turbo (preferably -4an size).go get a set screw slightly larger in diamater than the hole in the fitting.get a .035" drill bit and drill a hole in the set screw (this is a pain in the *** to do but doesnt take too long {get soft setscrews, i had to fight with hardened ones}).tap out the inside of the fitting to the thread pitch of the set screw (mine were 5mm x 1.5 pitch or somethin retarded like that) but only go about 2/3 of the way into the fitting (gives the set screw something to back and tighten against).put a bit of thread selant on the set screw and screw into place.clean out the excess thread selant and let sit overnight.tada insta restictor thats gaurenteed to work.hope that helps.....

You can get S/S braided line with one banjo end and a straight 4-an on the other end. Just go to http://www.summitracing.com

is it necessary to do this? i thought the oil restrictor is necessary if you are running a ball bearing turbo. i thought the RB25 wasn't.

nope rb20 and 25 have roller bearing turbos, the 26's twins however are standard bush turbos......

My big question is still... what fitting size fits in the oil feed hole? I can redo one end of the braided line if I have to... but it would be a lot easier if I can screw it on the way it is instead of swapping out for a banjo.

Thanks for the help!

Maybe you can get one of those one ended s/s braided lines and use the stock banjo bolt (granted you have the bolt).

Do you have a spare Nissan brake line or brake line end? Reason being, most Nissan brake systems, and Honda/Toyota, are 10mm x 1.0 threads. They like to use that on almost anything that uses clutch fluid, oil, etc. If you want to know and if you don't have a spare line around, go to Advanced Auto or Autozone and get a regular 3/16" Japanese Metric 8" long brake line. Should run you about 3 bucks. If you can thread that into the hole, then you have a winner. You can then just get a 10mm x 1.0 thread banjo bolt.

Hope this helps you out.

Go to home depot, take the turbo in there, just cover up the exhaust and intake side, whihc i had done, then find the fitting that you need, i did the same, i had a employe help me out, only took 3 minutes max, if you want i have a pic of what the thing looks like, i used it in my sr20det t25, which should be the same as the rb's t28, from the looks of it, i have no problem sending over the pic, iam using stainless steel lines, which hooked up perfectly, and the hole on the fitting is big, so theres no need to tap into it,

I believe the fitting needed for the oil inlet is 7/16" -24 inverted flare.

I'm reviving yet another thread on my quest to stop my turbo from burning oil. It visually seems in good condition so its hard to believe the oil seals are bad. Just like the OP I have a braided line no more banjo bolts ( I was previously installing an hx35 and gave up). I have a -4 AN fitting feeding the turbo. What size restrictor do I need and where does the restrictor get installed !?

Answered my own question vibrant racing has a kit I'm gonna use . "Oil Restrictor Fitting, -4AN x 7/16-24", with 2 S.S.Jets " Part #: 10287

Its pretty much the same thing carl H made with setscrews.
