I'm thinking about moving up to a better (bigger) turbo than the stock one, but I've heard different things about after market turbo manifolds. Seems like all the welded stainless steel ones don't have much endurance and that the stock cast iron manifolds holp up way better. Has anyone had any good experience with a particular stainless welded turbo manifold? Or is just some good port matching on the stock manifold sufficient?

Thin walled stuff never last. The thicker stuff that you see lovefab, fullrace, protech use stands up to the abuse and heat cycling. The thin stuff is like the SSautochrome,Xspower ect. Some HKS manifolds are thin walled too but not sure if they switched to cast manifolds now. http://www.3rdgearvtec.net/And...4.JPG it's a pretty big pic so I didn't want to post it on the forum cause well it's pretty big. It's a pic of a thin walled greddy manifold next to a thickwalled stainless manifold.

i bought the ssautochrome, i havent installed it yet, not the best quality on welding (didnt grind down welds inside collector, but did the ports) but i paid 150 shipped for it, is it last me a year i will be happy heheh

The biggest problem I have with the SS autochrome mani is that the ports on the flange do not line up properly with the ports on the head.

i can make you an adapter for the stock manifold. you can have it top mount or bottom mount and external wastegate--to if you want.

I just say stock and modify it. That is what I did with mine and have know others that have with theirs and it works just fine. Here is a picture of mine.

If you send a gasket to JGS they will make you a nice log style with way bigger runners then the stocker. Then you just weld on the radius plate and flange. I have one for my KAT and it is very good quality.

I am going to use this one probably for a while and the nice thing about the stock one is it will not crack. I have known guys that are making passes in the 10's with the stock modified manifold, so I said hell with wasting my money on something that I do not need right away and cut that corner by spending $100 to get it welded with the flange. In the near future I will most likely getting a equal length, but just to save some money this is a very good route to go.

should work out good. not sure if your going to be able to fit a Scover on that manifold tho. I test fitted a E and it is really close.
