The oem tires are very good but there are better. You get what you pay for though. Mileage will vary between owners and how they drive. Proper inflation and alignment will play a big part too. I only buy from The Tire Rack when it comes to performance tires at the best price. Go to their web site and enter your vehicle. Then click on performance tires only. You can then do a comparison check for your sizes. It will show you owner reviews etc. The tires are shipped (cheaply) to your door in days. They also have a huge selection of 350Z specific wheels and will do all the mounting and balancing. The only tire they dont sell is Nitto which is a very good tire. Discount tire can get you those. My tire? As a road race competitor, I strictly stay with Michelin Pilot Sports. Pricey but excellent.

tires also tend to trade wear for traction, the higher the treadware rating the longer the tire will last but the lower the treadware the better the dry traction tends to be, tirerack.com has lots of reviewws and they do their won testing on the tires as well

Hi! I just had Nitto Tires/Helo Rims put on my 04 350z convertible - they look awesome and seem to be good - time will tell ..... will have to drive it during chicago winters when i can (only vehicle i have)...any suggestions. Also, seems I need brakes at 25k miles - is that normal?

Unless you are at the track a lot with your Z, needing brakes at 25k is not right. They are good for a LOT more miles under normal driving. Get a second opinion from a service tech if you think they are bad. A lot of shops will try and sell you parts when they are not needed.

PerfectApex....Thx for the info. Im never at the track its all neighborhood/hiway driving. Ive owned 14 cars in the past 30yrs and never have I needed brakes soooo soon. The "brake" lite comes on intermittently and they are starting to squeak-bringing in to the dealer on fri to see whats up.

Ya i was gonna say the same, the brakes on the Z are very good no matter what version you have ( Brembo or non Brembo) They should not need to be replaced so soon, i dont have as many miles on my Z yet but i think they should be good up to about double what you have on yours.

The stock tires on the Z tend to wear out fast. I'm putting ES100's on mine for right now.
