My Pathfinder came with new Geolander HT/S tires and i have to say they are useless in any weather condition that is not dry. Snow performance is terrible. No traction to speak of. Rain is equally awful. I have 16k on 'em so far and cannot wait for them to wear out so i can justify spending the $$$ on new tires.

Thanks to everyone in this thread for the great info and opinions on tires.

FYI - there is difference between the HT/S & AT/S tires.

Very good Ron. The difference in model Highway vs. All-Terrain still will not do jack-s*&t for snowy conditions. I guess I should have checked your location first before my diatribe on how worthless this tire is to me.

i haven't come across many HT tires that do well in inclement conditions.

i will say though, that the Michelin HT style tires do exceptionally well. i've taken my tires (X Radial LT2 which is the same as the LTX MS2), the Latitude Tour, older Cross Terrain which can still be found, and the LTX AS in dirt, mud, and light snow. all performed well. IMO, as far as best to worst of those four, it'd have to go X Radial LT2/LTX MS2, Latitude Tour, and just about a tie with the Cross Terrain/LTX AS.

it's all a matter of proper driving in the conditions that you're in so the tire can perform the way it should. all those tires are on the HT style of tread design (although the X Radial LT2/LTX MS2 are the next best thing to an AT without having to sacrifice ride quality/road noise), but handle very well.

just my humble opinion. :)
