I'm trying *really* hard to find an OEM 5-hole outlet gasket for my SR's T25 before Wednesday, when I'm installing a high flow O2 housing, and simply can't. Not without paying $40 for overnight shipping

Is there a silicone (or other) gasket maker that would do the job? I'm not too optimistic since it would have to deal with some serious heat, but >$50 is a lot to pay for one little gasket

You can only use a copper or other organic gasket. RTV will eventually degrade and blow out.

^ What he said.

That outlet see's temperatures 700-1400 degrees depending on your car's health, it'll basically melt. Even a used one, is better than none.

Permatex actually makes a copper liquid gasket that is for turbo applications. I dont recommend using it as a permanant solution though but it will work fine. When I had my engine out I lost my 3 bolt exhaust gasket in the process so I used liquid gasket for now. It sealed fine.

...So how bad would it be to re-use the old gasket? OK as long as it's in one piece? If not I'll just put off installing the elbow until later

If it's in one piece, it's fine. It's a metal gasket, not crappy paper.

Yeah, as long as it's in 1-piece, it's fine. They're not crush gaskets like the cheapo exhaust ones are, they're solid metal, that form to the right shape when put under pressure. It should seal just fine!

I don't know why I didn't realize this. I was picturing taking the elbow off and scraping the remains of the gasket off with a file.

So that's good news Much thanks guys.
