So when i turn my car on and am sitting in it just relaxing the stereo screen on the stock unit starts to dim and go back to normal and flicker like that. Anyone have any clue on what that means? Maybe something is loose? But after a few minutes it stops. Confused and would love some help

sounds like a power drain issue... take it to the dealer... since its the stock unit. it is still under warranty.. make them figure it out or replace it!

Does everything else dim? Like the lights on the climate control, etc?

Nothing else dims. Its just the headunit which dims and it was weird when I first saw it. I was sitting there like...wtf? haha But I like the idea of a new headunit or just taking it to the dealer. I am in the navy tho so it isn't to get it to the dealer. It would suck to be without my car. I will have it checked out in like 2 weeks cause I am going to be taking some leave time. Thanks all for your imputs

If you plan on keeping the stock stereo for a while, I'd take it to the dealer. Unfortunately, they will probably claim that they can't reproduce the issue. Has this happened more than once? I wonder if there is any way to tell what is going on with the car when it happens so it might be easier to reproduce.

I have this exact same problem. Just started occurring about a week ago. My stock head unit display (non-Bose) dims and flickers..no other lights anywhere on the dash or head unit do this, just the head unit LCD display.

It seems to be heat related for me.. when it's cool out, no flickering/dimming, but when it's hot in the car.. lots of it. Lately it's been pretty hot as my car sits outside when I am at work.. when I get in it to go home.. I really notice the flickering. I guess I will take it in at some point, but it might be hard to reproduce for them unless it is hot!

Drive with the heat on when you go to the dealer?
