Is the stock Bose headunit able to play MP3 formatted CDs? (Im almost 99% sure it can't, but after doing a google search with "02 Infiniti I35 MP3 CD" is seems it is possible that our stereos can play these CDs...

Yea or nay on an 02 I35's ability to play MP3 CDs?

The purpose of asking wasn't to save myself the $1 for the CD, it was to save myself the hassle of trying to figure out how to burn on in the 1st place.

hassle? all you have to do is just burn MP3 files directly to the CD instead of using a program to convert them. (aka just use Windows drag & burn function)
