I have a Q45 ignitor and the plug leads I got from the local U-PULL-IT when I got my brake calipers and rotors today ($40!!!!) What is the advantage, if any, to using the Q45 ignitor over the stock SR ignitor?

I got the calipers and rotors for $40. $16 to turn the rotors at O'Reilley's and $24.99 for new pads. This has got to be way better than the stock front brakes. I haven't gotten to test them out yet because I am waiting for my turbo to get here so the car is tore apart. Right at $80 for the brake upgrade. I had some paint laying around and cleaned and painted them too. Just wanted to share.

If yours goes out then yeah the 95 q45 is the one car you want to look for when at the junkyards... a new one is way too much $$$ and always on backorder at dealerships.

BAP and autozones sell them cheap but not sure about the reliability

Yeah q45 brakes are great for easy brake clearance and the fact that they are 2 piston calipers instead the the old single piston on the stock cars. Get some braided lines and you will feel them firm up a nice little bit

So basically, there is no performance gain. It is just a cheap alternative to purchasing an actual SR ignitor? The ignitor I have is from a 91' model. I got it if mine ever goes out. There is a post about rewiring for it so I may just hang on to it just in case. Unless it adds like 15 WHP or something.....lol

No there isnt a gain. Its acually the best way to go but they are very pacific when it comes to part number and weather it will function with any factory or aftermarket ecu. Look at your current one and make sure the part number matches up because I remember finding like 3 different ones within one model of Q45 (yeah you know there is the F50 and G50 and FGY33)

the part number starts with a 2 and is 5 digits with a space or dash then another 5 digits
