hey. my sr is acting a little wierd. i had a vacuum leak a while back and my car would ide really high, as well as my timming was off. i found the vacuum leak and when i was adjusting timming i put the cas in wrong. When i attempted to start the car it pushed out smoke throught the intake. i readjusted my timming and it started up with no problems. it idles great, but it doesnt boost hard at all. the turbo builds up boost the same and the bov screams as normal but its not getting the same power as it was getting in the past. I just did a boost leak test and there were no leaks. i took off the intake pipes for the turbo and inspected the turbo, theres no absolutly no shaft play and the propellor spins freely. there was some oil in the intake pipes and around the turbo. but when i start up the car while its cold it seems like the propeller grinds with turbo housing. it makes theses scraping noises. when im in 4th gear pushing the car, it picks up speed but nothing like it use to, but the turbo is boosting. the power isnt getting to where it needs to get. any suggestions would be very appricated.

thanks

Check Afr first.

Did u reset the timing using the timing light with the tps diconnected while the car is fully warm?

i used a timming light, it idles great now. but when i start the car it takes about 2-3 seconds to start. it seems normal but i can hear my starter kind of stuggling. i have a wideband but its not connected. is there another way to check afr??

ok. i reset timming with the tps off. its idling perfectly at 750-800 rpms. but im still having the same problem. do you think i blew a gasket? or something similar?? when im slowing down in any gear. i can hear my exhaust spuddering. and a little popping noise when i shift gears from time to time.

damn.. no love.

anyways..

if your having the same symtoms as me.. you should "seafoam" you car.. search it in the search tab. great write up. why you ask??..

well when you insert the liquid into your intake line.. it go thru and exits out of the exhuast correct??.. well its a great way to indicate the smallest leaks.(boost leaks)

i found out i had a leak from my down pipe gasket cause there was smoke puffing out from there.

hopefully thats the only problem i have. well ill fix it this weekend and get back to you guys.

but imo seafoam is a great indicator, easier than a boost leak tester and its only 8 bucks a can from walmart. plus it cleans out your intake.
